Releasing Woman

There are seasons when our unfolding seems to be moving in geologic time – at the pace with which lichen transform boulders back to crumbling soil. In these seasons, we become ever more passionate in our devotion to dancing our surrender into just-this-moment.

With great compassion and sympathy we gather to us and lovingly embrace each of the frustrated, angry, apprehensive, disappointed, despairing, bereft and overwhelmed selves who, persistently clamoring, come with us into just-this-moment.

We take time to welcome, acknowledge, include and listen heartfully to each upset self. We wrap each in loving arms and murmur to her words of comfort and acceptance of her just as and where she is.

Feeling deeply heard and much beloved each – in her own turn and finger by finger – gradually unclenches her hold on the expectations, agendas, judgments, fears, catastrophizings or griefs she has brought with her into just-this-moment.

The clamor slowly quiets. All of our selves come together. We dance in the paradox: embracing is releasing, releasing is embracing in just-this-moment.
